About the brand
Located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland’s whisky capital, the Glen Moray distillery has been producing fine
single malt since 1897. Through the boom times of late 19th Century and enduring two World Wars, the
consistency and care taken to produce our spirit has ensured GLEN MORAY has always remained one of the
most highly-regarded Speyside single malts. Since the first drops of spirit ran from the copper pot stills at
Glen Moray on the 13th September 1897, just five men have had the honor of holding the title “Master
Distiller.” The know-how and craftsmanship built over years of experience has been passed through
generations to ensure every drop has the same quality as the last. 1897 From a brewery, a new distillery is
born Our distillery was originally the Elgin West Brewery, which opened in 1830, producing local ales.
Surviving handwritten ledgers show the first spirit run was made on September 13th, 1897, using local
barley. This new make spirit was filled into a wide variety of casks, an unusual practice for the time. It’s a tr…

Stop number 41 on the SDT is Glen Moray. This Speyside refinery was recently possessed by Moã«t Hennessy/Louis Vuitton which claims Glenmorangie and Ardbeg yet they dropped the brand as it didn't fit with their extravagance profile. Glen Moray is currently a piece of La Martiniquaise France's second biggest spirits organization. Alright enough with the backstory now we should get to the great stuff. This NAS articulation is packaged at 40% ABV is probably chill sifted yet seems by all accounts to be a characteristic shading (albeit a have no real confirmation) of strawberry blonde. I have no clue about its age or of to what extent the port completing procedure was. The nose begins sweet with rich croissants strawberry Chipper Farmer confections and some port wine notes. Exceptionally sweet undoubtedly. Nectar nutmeg and a little cinnamon and sugar. This is unquestionably a treat measure. I get lemon squares tidied with powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Almond glue or marzipan travels every which way. This resembles smelling a sweet table at a family occasion party. Some cinnamony oak out of sight. A malty character appears sooner or later. This is an extraordinary nose that is intricate albeit generally it is fairly quelled and watered down. Spicier than anticipated on the sense of taste given how sweet the nose was. A decent measure of oak and sweet port notes. Some blueberry/blackberry pie. Dim chocolate and a pinch of ginger. Once more generally excellent yet watered down and ailing in power. Light bodied mouthfeel that is slender and dry. Medium short completion that has port wine almond glue and lemon candy. Scott made an unbelievable showing in his survey and I got on a large portion of very similar things he did with just a couple of contrasts. A major gratitude to him for the example he gave. This scotch is so near being incredible. Everything is there it simply needs a higher ABV to convey it over the end goal. I love the nose extremely charming if not slightly lopsided from all the sweet notes. The sense of taste is somewhat meager and the completion is excessively short. 46-half ABV would have made this a power to be dealt with. For hell's sake I'd even take 43%. At around $25-30 you truly are getting an extraordinary incentive for cash. Without that low value I would give this a 3.5 yet it's VFM factor gives it a lift to 3.75. I presently had a powerful urge to attempt the multi year port completed rendition! Cheers ðÿ¥ƒ

Tasting Notes
Nose
Creamy vanilla at the fore, joined by jammy redcurrants and blackberry. Toasted oak touches in the background.
Taste
Butterscotch candies, golden barley and a touch of cinnamon. The port cask influence comes through with light notes of raisins and freshly picked red berries.
Finish
Rather long, with honey, vanilla and a dusting of cocoa.
