About the brand
Campbeltown is a very special place in Scotland, referred to as ‘the centre of the universe’ by some of its
current residents. With an abundance of rich farmland, local barley, peat and fresh water, it was almost
inevitable it would become a vital part of the history of whisky distilling. Distilling on the Kintyre peninsula
dates back to 1609 with the granting of the first licence to produce ‘aqua vitae’. In the Victorian age,
Campbeltown was known as the whisky capital of the world – one of the five distinctive malt producing
regions of Scotland, namely Highland, Speyside, Lowland and Islay and of course, Campbeltown. Glen Scotia
is a fine example of this historic region. THE BEGINNINGS OF A NEW TOWN Campbeltown was not the
town’s original name. The place itself was established in 1597 by act of parliament, and began to be settled
in 1607. It was known as Lochhead until the mid-19th century when the name Campbeltown was invented,
rather immodestly, by the local lairds, the Campbells! DISTILLING BEGINS… Happily, the Kintyre peninsul…

I have attempted a couple in the Glen Scotia extend including the 15 18 victoriana and now 25. I'll state in general while an extremely charming refinery it isn't one that has made a big deal about an enduring impression. the minor special case is the nas articulation the victoriana which was significantly more punchy regarding flavors. vanilla nectar and green apple are the prevalent flavor qualities here joined by a slight ethanol bowed which makes it marginally messed up and makes for a normal shortish completion.

So we've traveled 200 miles from Talisker Refinery to Loch Lomond subsequent to climbing close Glenbrittle on Skye. Lovely day and why not adjust the night with a Glen Scotia multi year old around $75 for a twofold here at the great Loch Lomond Arms. Exactly what I required - there is something in particular about these Campbeltown boys'n'gals that bestows an unobtrusive distinction contrasted with different malts. The NOSE is simply brilliant rich fruity with traces of treats cinnamon yet additionally summer berries. The Sense of taste first I taste a tremendous explosion of toffee-apple at that point I taste almonds at long last summer-berries jam. The additional 7 years give it that extra profundity to the fluid. The Completion is body-warming as you would anticipate delicate hotness; it is long and delectable. In general it welcomes on the disposition of those summers we thought could never end as you run and race to get the sun however it's sinking! Heavenly flawless maybe 5 small drops of water all things considered - suggested! :)
