Avion Tequila, or more formally Tequila Avion, was introduced in 2009 by founder Ken Austin and entrepreneur/aviation expert Kenny Dichter. Originally manufactured by Productos Finos De Agave and produced in Jalisco Mexico, the brand has since changed hands and was purchased by the Pernod Richard family of brands in 2018. Avion is favored for its slow and smooth delivery of flavor, and is released in three distinct forms, namely; Sliver, Reposado, and Anejo, with the latter being aged for a minimum of 2 years in ex-bourbon barrels. Alternatively, the brand has expanded to now include their line of Espresso tequila as well as their premium Avion Reserva 44. Crisp and incredibly clean, Avion Tequila is a strong competitor to another extremely well-known brand, Patron, and has won multiple awards including Best Tasting Tequila at the 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
