Opened in 1996 as the only Barbadian-owned distillery on the island of Barbados, Foursquare Rum Distillery is owned and operated by the Seale family, in particular Richard Seale - a 4th generation trader and distiller of R. L. Seale & Co. Hidden away within 8 acres of a sugar cane plantation located in Saint-Philip, the distillery imports a majority of its molasses from Guyana, and has adopted the use of distiller's yeast from South Africa. Offering a blend of masterfully crafted pot still and column still iterations, Foursquare Rum Distillery prides itself on producing the highest quality of rum using innovative cask finishing to instill each release with its own alluring profile. Several premium cask selections from the brand have gone on to win multiple awards, including the 2018 ISC Supreme Champion Spirit for Foursquare 2005 Mark VI, the 2021 Supreme Champion Spirit for Foursquare Mark XV Redoubtable, as well as being awarded the ISC Rum Producer of the year consecutively from 2016 to 2023.
