Known the world over as the master of blended champagne, Krug Champagne is a brand of ultra-superior champagne first established in 1843 by Joseph Krug. Krug worked as an accountant for Champagne Jacquesson prior to establishing Krug, which is based primarily in the city of Reims, France. Joseph Krug spent close to a decade working for Champagne Jacqueeson and learned about the art of blending champagne through his growing role within the company. By 1840, Krug was already blending for another house and launched Krug et Cie 3 years later. The Krug family is still actively involved with the brand, which was taken over by international luxury conglomerate LVMH Moet Hennessy – Louis Vuitton S. E. in 1999. Krug Champagne offers a variety of select champagnes including their famous Grande Cuvee and Krug Rose, along with an array of highly collectible aged releases – with all vintage champagnes matured for a minimum of 10 years.
