2013 Old Rip Van Winkle Pappy Van Winkle’s 20 year old Family Reserve Bourbon is sublimely iconic whiskey aged a minimum of 20 years in new charred white oak barrels to a decadently simmering 90.4 proof. Pappy 20 is rarified whiskey produced in extremely limited annual releases of less than 10,000 cases per US state, making it a highly collectible dram well worthy of any authentic bourbon bounty hunter! Originally sourced from Stitzel-Weller, this 2013 release of Pappy 20 is alternatively composed of 100% Buffalo Trace bourbon and contains an undisclosed high-wheat mash bill. The nose is rife with butter, vanilla-dipped plums, caramel, and raisins soaked in coffee. On the palate are traces of dried oak, apples, syrupy fruit, and wood layered in oily varnish. …
