Jameson Gold Reserve Irish Whiskey was introduced as a limited edition bottling created exclusively for the Asian markets. Due to its wide success - this extraordinary whiskey was previously welcomed as a permanent iteration of the Jameson core range, however, it has been discounted as of 2017. A distillery bottling, Jameson Gold Reserve is an undisclosed blend of pure pot still whiskeys estimated to be an 8-10 year old aged in American oak, a 10-20 year old aged in ex-bourbon, and a 10-20 year old selection matured in ex-sherry. Finished to 40% ABV (80-proof), enjoy a nose of rich woody accents, pot still spice, and sherry complimenting a palate of decadent cream, maple syrup, and hints of citrus peelings. About the brand

Contrary to its origins in 1780 Ireland, Jameson Whiskey was actually founded by Scottish-born lawyer John Jameson. The brand began as part of 6 main whiskeys produced and distilled at the Jameson Distillery located in Bow Street, Dublin Ireland. However, production of this iconic whiskey was taken over around 1966 by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of French aperitif manufacturer Pernod Ricard; owner of renowned brands such as Chivas Regal and Absolut Vodka. Originally available by the cask only, it wasn’t until 1968 that this superior whiskey could be purchased by the bottle. Since that time, Jameson Whiskey has expanded the brand and is now sold in over 130 countries worldwide. This distinct Irish whiskey uses a unique triple-distillation process along with expertly sourced oak barrels from England, Spain, and the US in the creation and aging of all of its whiskies.

I had this at the refinery and left the glass half full on the table. It had an aftertaste like feet. Like feet in a retiremet home that germ-free taste that waits in your nose while you're driving home and you ask yourself is this truly what mother merits"?"
