As a part of their Blender’s Series line of whiskey, Crown Royal Bourbon Mash Blended Canadian whiskey is actually a bit of a misnomer. Entitled under the Americanized bourbon mash category even though it is a Canadian whiskey, it is crafted using a bourbon mash bill but solely produced in Canada. Diageo, owner of the Crown Royal brand, re-named this offering “Blender’s Mash” soon after being notified of their labeling error. This NAS, 80% proof blended bourbon released n 2018 offers up aromatic hues of fresh fruit; green apples and pears, peaches, and grapes laced with vanilla. About the brand

Introduced in 1939 by Samuel Bronfman of Seagram’s Ltd. in celebration of the royal tour of Canada by King George VI and his wife Queen Elizabeth, Crown Royal - originally Seagram’s Crown Royal – is award-winning Canadian whisky known for its smooth finish and flavor. This renowned whiskey is produced at the company’s sole distillery in Gimli Manitoba, even after the brand was purchased by international beverage manufacturer Diageo in 2000. Crown Royal was originally available only in Canada until 1964 when it was finally introduced to the global market. From there, Crown Royal has risen to become the top-selling Canadian whisky in the world. Offering a blend of Canadian-grown ingredients paired with a unique column distillation process (typically reserved for vodka), this superior Canadian whisky continues to build a legacy of flavor and fame true to its regal beginnings.
