Breaker Bourbon is a sourced whiskey from MGP in Indiana where it is distilled and aged. The whiskey is blended and bottled in California. Breaker Wheated Bourbon Whisky is meant to serve as a counterpart to the beautifully bold Breaker Bourbon Whisky. By replacing the rye in the mash bill with wheat Breaker Bourbon has created a bourbon that is slightly softer on the palate. Remaining true to tradition, this bourbon is aged in new, deeply charred, White American Oak, 53 gallon barrels for a minimum of 5 years. Only eight barrels are carefully hand selected by the Master Distiller for each batch bottled. Ascendant Spirits produces whiskies, vodkas, and other spirits. Tasting Notes

Nose

A sweet and fruity bouquet fills the air while I let the whiskey rest in a lowball glass. Notes of heavy vanilla, grapefruit, and coconut are complemented by pepper and caramel.

Taste

Vanilla kicks off the show, with light charred oak flavors swirling around together with a caramel finish. It definitely tastes just like it smells, and leaves me with a teeny tiny bit of rye spice surprise on the end. It’s just enough to add a touch of complexity and spice without overpowering the spirit with a rye punch in the mouth. The finish is very smooth, and gently lingers on your tongue with a sweet kiss of caramel.

Caramel and vanilla dominate with rich oak and pepper notes finish.
