The nose has wonderful oak in advance that is met with cinnamon with smooth vanilla and caramel and a slight fruitiness out of sight. The oak and cinnamon blend enjoyably on the sense of taste with it inclining more towards cinnamon as the vanilla and caramel keep it adjusted. Oak waits in the mouth while the cinnamon blurs and keeps the mouth shivering for a pleasant long completion.

Sweet maple syrup nose. Pleasantness proceeds with completely through on the sense of taste alongside a cherry fruitiness and cinnamon. Next to no consume. Helps me to remember Old Forester Birthday Whiskey. No compelling reason to ice or water this one down. A strong whiskey.

Tasting Notes

Nose

The nose opens with a warm mix of scents. Baked sweet bread, allspice, cinnamon bark, light custard, and a touch of seasoned oak come together in a harmonious way. It’s an enticing way to start and really invites you to explore the sip more.

Taste

A touch of heat and nice amount of sweetness form the base of this bourbon. Summer fruits, yellow cake, vanilla, and honey mingle with a base layer of light spice.

Finish

The extra time this bourbon spent in the barrel shows in the finish. Oak, white pepper, and sweet summer fruits are quite noticeable up front. These transition to vanilla, a lingering heat, and eventually just oak.
