Old Line Cask Strength Single Malt American Whiskey 750ml Bottle

I enjoyed visiting the distillery in Baltimore and I’m glad to have their whiskey sent out to me.

Tonight, I revisit (virtually) the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. The Cask Strength is a beautiful dark copper-burgundy. It opens with milk chocolate, cinnamon, and dark caramel, followed by apple pie – apples, butter, cinnamon, and baking spices, then vanilla and candied ginger, giving way to maple frosting, licked right from the maple-bar donut – with the ever-present toasted oak. The more you sip, the more flavors reveal themselves – apple butter, mint, honey, toffee, black pepper, brown sugar… this dram just keeps on delivering flavor bonanza – what a flavor powerhouse. The mouthfeel is light-oily, with great legs that deliver a spicy long finish, remiscient of Aberlour Abunadh and Tamdhu Cask Strength.Drink slow, drink long, drink a variety, drink often.
