Blanton's Gold Takara Edition is a limited edition release of Blanton's single barrel bourbon whiskey, produced in collaboration with Takara Shuzo, a Japanese distillery. The release was launched in 2006 and is highly sought after by whiskey collectors and enthusiasts.
The bottle design features the iconic horse and jockey figurine on the stopper, as well as a gold and black label that distinguishes it from regular Blanton's releases. The Takara edition is bottled at a higher strength than the regular Blanton's, at 51.5% ABV (103 proof).
The whiskey itself is aged for a minimum of 8 years in charred oak barrels, giving it a deep amber color and a rich, complex flavor profile. On the nose, it has aromas of caramel, vanilla, and oak, with a subtle hint of spice.
