A looming beast of a whisky layered with supple flavors and a complex blend of choice distillates - Found North 18 Year Batch 008 Cask Strength Whisky is a surefire winner from nose to finish. Produced in an outrun of 2,925 bottles announced by this award-winning distillery, this structured and marvelously composed whisky features 18 - 26 year old Canadian juice matured in a selection of barrels and derived from an 87% corn, 12% rye, and 1% malted barley mash bill. The recipe starts with a base of 18 year old rye whisky aged in ex-Maderia wine casks. Found North then added in four singular corn distillates for more depth; 22 and 23 year old whiskies matured in virgin American oak, a 23 year old corn component matured in ex-bourbon, and a really special 26 year old corn distillate sourced from rich Hugarian oak barrels. The final addition is a slightly younger 19 year rye also selected from Hungarian oak - giving the finished profile a youthful yet spice tone. Bottled at 62.2% ABV (124.4-proof), Found North Batch 008 Cask Strength 18 Year is a remarkable release showcasing the artistry of unique cask finishing and masterful aging.
